Michael has over two decades of combined legal, government, and political experience and advocates for clients on a wide range of policy matters. From 2009 to 2023, he served in the Illinois House of Representatives, including as Chairman of the House Revenue and Finance Committee. Michael authored several key initiatives over his career, including authoring the state’s Sports Wagering Act, the Independent Tax Tribunal and the Reimagining Electric Vehicles Act and negotiated numerous to Illinois’ Revenue Code, Property Code, Liquor Code, and other comprehensive state statutes. Prior to joining the General Assembly, Michael served as an assistant Cook County State’s Attorney and was in a private practice. He has extensive experience in areas related to procurement law.
